The importance of QC in recruitment

Recruitment has always been very tricky in Indonesia. Here, in Jade Inc. we handle our own recruitment. We don’t outsource! We recruit our respondents via face to face by using our network or referral. We’re all aware that we always have screener or list of questions to make sure that we have recruited the correct target group, but most of the time we really cannot rely on respondents’ answers to the screener.

Not only to avoid professional respondents, but also we simply cannot assess respondents SEC / LSM without witnessing their life, especially if we assess them only by asking their personal property or belongings. Lots of people don’t throw away things until it really cannot be used anymore, or it could also be given by someone else. In this case, we really need to do QC before we confirm our respondents.

Few months earlier, we heard one respondent complained saying that we asked too many questions when he was screened. Fair enough. We did asked too many questions, we were too detailed questioning them, because we simply don’t want any surprises. We also understand that people complains easily. They even get offended very quickly, which is why a personal approach also plays a very important role in terms of recruitment. The first thing we need to do is we need to earn their trust, to make them comfortable to express their opinions and thoughts.
